The Greater Downtown Vandalism Recovery Grant is intended to provide economic relief to businesses and non-profit organizations in Downtown Red Deer that have been negatively impacted by vandalism.

​This grant is administered by the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre (CACPC) and funded through the City of Red Deer. It provides a 50% reimbursement (up to a maximum of $2,000) to help cover costs incurred to repair vandalism or remove graffiti and can be used for insurance deductibles. 

This grant can be applied for up to 5 times however each application must be for a separate incident that has been reported to the RCMP, and must have occurred between June 1 - December 31, 2024.

Eligible Dates: June 1 - December 31, 2024
The Greater Downtown District includes Historic Downtown, Capstone, the Railyards, and the Business Improvement Area (BIA).
Steps to apply:
  • Complete the application form.
  • A Crime Prevention Staff member will contact you to meet at the property to confirm eligibility. 
  • Once the repair is complete, submit the "Request for Reimbursement" form and email your before and after pictures plus receipt(s).
    • If you cannot access the online form, please contact 403-986-9904. A CACPC staff member will assist you. 
  • A Crime Prevention Staff member will contact you to meet at the property and confirm that the repairs are complete. 
  • A reimbursement cheque will be issued. 
  • You will be asked to complete a survey regarding your experience with the grant process.

​Not eligible: residential property damage, replacement of stolen items, facility enhancements.
