Greater Downtown Vandalism Recovery Grant

The Greater Downtown Vandalism Recovery Grant is intended to provide economic relief to businesses and non-profit organizations in Downtown Red Deer that have been negatively impacted by vandalism.

This grant is administered by the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre (CACPC) and funded through the City of Red Deer. It provides a 50% reimbursement (up to a maximum of $2,000) to help cover costs incurred to repair vandalism or remove graffiti and can be used for insurance deductibles.

This grant can be applied for up to 5 times per year, however each application must be for a separate incident that has been reported to the RCMP, and must have occurred after June 1, 2024. The grant will end December 31, 2026 or earlier if all the funds are dispersed prior to the end of the grant cycle.

Eligible Dates: June 1, 2024 - December 31, 2026 (or until all funds are dispersed)

Steps to apply:

  • Complete the application form.

  • A Crime Prevention Staff member will contact you to meet at the property to confirm eligibility.

  • Once the repair is complete, submit the "Request for Reimbursement" form and email your before and after pictures plus receipt(s) to info@cacpc.ca

  • If you cannot access the online form, please contact 403-986-9904. A CACPC staff member will assist you.

  • A Crime Prevention Staff member will contact you to meet at the property and confirm that the repairs are complete.

  • A reimbursement cheque will be issued.

  • You will be asked to complete a survey regarding your experience with the grant process.


​Not eligible: residential property damage, replacement of stolen items, facility enhancements.

The Greater Downtown District includes Historic Downtown, Capstone, the Railyards, and the Business Improvement Area (BIA).
